regional support MSME’s Digital Transformation Support
The project “MSME’s Digital Transformation Support Program in Bosnia and Herzegovina” aimed to strengthen systemic support for the digital transformation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises by developing an institutional and professional framework for consulting services in this area. Within the project, a Center for Digital Transformation was established to provide methodological and operational support to companies. The project also focused on building expert competencies through training programs and certification of digital transformation consultants. Additionally, a pilot program supported ten selected companies through digital readiness assessments, identification of key challenges, and the definition and implementation of priority digital transformation projects. The project contributed to improving business processes, strengthening digital capacities of enterprises, and raising awareness of the importance of digitalization for competitiveness and sustainable growth. The project was implemented within the EU4DigitalSME program, carried out by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

regional support agrosmart
The project “Research on the Application of Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Digital Transformation and Innovation in the Agricultural Sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina – AgroSmart” aimed to support digital transformation and innovation in agriculture through the use of artificial intelligence. Implemented in collaboration with the Verlab Institute, six agricultural entities, and international partners, the project focused on wheat yield prediction and resource optimization. An AI solution was developed that estimates wheat yields from simple crop images with over 90% accuracy, with collected data validated in cooperation with farmers. In addition, five expert workshops with more than 80 participants were organized, and a practical manual titled “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture” was published. These activities enabled farmers to make more informed decisions, increasing yields while reducing the use of water, fertilizers, and pesticides. The project was supported through the EU4AGRI program, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Czech Development Agency.
REGIONAL SUPPORT EIT FOOD AWARENESS EVENT
The EIT Food Challenge Labs BiH event, organized by Verlab Institute and the Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences at the University of Sarajevo with support from EIT Food, focuses on innovative solutions for reducing food waste and strengthening sustainability in the agrifood sector. The program includes a national Challenge Labs competition addressing bakery waste and fruit and vegetable by-products, as well as an Awareness Event that connects industry, academia, and civil society to support innovation and collaboration in the food system.
