Research on the application of artificial intelligence for sustainable digital transformation and innovation in the agricultural sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina – AgroSmart
Project description:
The project aimed to explore and apply artificial intelligence (AI) concepts to foster sustainable digital transformation and innovation within the agricultural sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina. By establishing collaboration between a research institute and agricultural enterprises, an efficient and sustainable system for transferring new information, knowledge, and technologies into agricultural practice was created.
The AgroSmart project achieved:
– Development of the AgroSmart model, an AI solution that accurately estimates wheat yield through simple crop photography, with an accuracy of over 90%.
– Collaboration with 6 agricultural entities in data collection and validation of estimation accuracy.
– Organization of 5 workshops with over 80 participants on the topic of digital transformation in agriculture.
– Publication of the handbook “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Agriculture”.
– Establishment of cross-border cooperation with the BioSense Institute from Serbia.
The project was implemented from February 2024, to December 2024.
