With the support of the World Health Organization (WHO) and the technical expertise of the Verlab Institute from Sarajevo, the implementation of a significant project aimed at improving the quality and safety of healthcare services in Bosnia and Herzegovina has begun. This project is being carried out in collaboration with the medical laboratories of the Institute of Public Health of Republika Srpska and the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo (KCUS), where the first training sessions have already been held. The director of the Verlab Institute, Dr. Lejla Gurbeta Pokvic, emphasizes that the accreditation process for these laboratories is underway. The technical expertise of the Verlab Institute is crucial for promoting innovation in the healthcare sector of Bosnia and Herzegovina, fostering collaboration between public and private institutions. Their neutral position enables open exchange of information and ideas, creating a conducive environment for progress.
Obtaining accreditation according to the international standard ISO 15189 is an important step for public institutions such as the Institute of Public Health of Republika Srpska and the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo.
