The World Health Organization (WHO) promotes healthy lifestyles and regular physical activity as one of the most important prerequisites for good health.
In pursuit of this goal, in 2003, WHO initiated the campaign to encourage national-level activities promoting regular physical activity on May 10th.
This day is known as the International Day of Physical Activity or Move for Health Day.
According to the recommendations of the World Health Organization, activities organized on this occasion to preserve and improve individual health should be conducted anywhere and be of moderate to high intensity.
The Verlab Research Institute for biomedical engineering, medical devices, and artificial intelligence, guided by the aforementioned, has developed a combined athlete testing model through its Verlab Sport platform, aiming to prevent sports injuries and identify young talents while predicting athletic performance. For the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we encounter a testing model that, in addition to testing basic motor skills, involves genetic testing and testing of mental abilities. By combining these three types of testing, we can say that we have a comprehensive battery of tests that provides us with sufficient data about athletes to develop an individual training program for each athlete. The emphasis in the combined testing model is placed precisely on that individual approach, which undoubtedly represents the future of sports. Each athlete is an individual with their own needs, abilities, deficiencies, and requires an approach tailored exclusively to those parameters.
Science, as an indispensable sphere in our daily lives, including sports, can truly contribute to the development of sports technology, but more importantly, it can impact the preservation of athlete's health, which should undoubtedly be the primary goal of engaging in sports.
Let a healthy spirit guide us in a healthy body.
Neka nas vodi zdrav duh u zdravom tijelu.
