“Workshop “Climate Fresk” at the CMBEBIH 2025 Conference

As part of the CMBEBIH 2025 conference, a workshop titled “Climate Fresk” was organized by the French Institute in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

This interactive three-hour workshop, based on the report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), presented in an engaging and professional way the causes and consequences of climate change, as well as practical and effective steps that each of us can take to mitigate them.

At the very beginning, participants were asked thought-provoking questions such as: “By how many degrees has the planet warmed in the past five years?” and “How often do we use means of transport, and do we think about harmful emissions?”. The discussion was further enriched with relevant data, setting a strong foundation for the workshop.

The workshop unfolded through working with cards that participants placed on the fresk, arranging them as causes and consequences of global warming. In this way, they gained a clear and comprehensive vision of the problem and the role that different factors play in climate change. The final fresk created a complete narrative about global climate challenges – from impacts on ecosystems to direct effects on human health.

Special emphasis was placed on good practices and concrete actions that can support sustainable solutions. Throughout the learning process, the initial energy gradually transformed into constructive exchanges of ideas and a strong sense of shared responsibility, confirming the value of this interactive approach to education and awareness raising.

The workshop participants were representatives of the public sector in the fields of education, public administration, and communications, further underlining the importance

of a multidisciplinary approach in understanding and addressing climate challenges.”
