Project name:
ENKORE
Project description:
The ENKORE project is designed to reshape the healthcare sector by introducing sustainable, safe and circular solutions for single-use medical devices and packaging. With more than 50 partners across Europe, ENKORE is establishing a robust ecoDesign framework, focusing on the entire life cycle of medical products. This holistic approach integrates circularity, safety and sustainability by design, supporting the development of environmentally responsible and patient-centered healthcare solutions that reduce environmental impact and carbon emissions. ENKORE will validate good practices through five real-life use cases led by industry leaders such as Novo Nordisk, Baxter International Inc., Fresenius Medical Care, DuPont, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic and Boehringer Ingelheim. At Verlab Institute, we remain committed to advancing innovation in healthcare and promoting a greener, more sustainable future. We look forward to working with all stakeholders to support the transition towards eco-conscious medical technology and sustainable healthcare systems. ENKORE is funded by the Innovative Health Initiative (IHI) Joint Undertaking under Grant Agreement No. 101166707. IHI is supported by the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme and industry partners including COCIR, EFPIA, EuropaBio, MedTech Europe and Vaccines Europe.
