Deputy Prime Minister and Federal Minister of Development, Entrepreneurship and Crafts Vojin Mijatović, Director of the Verlab Research Institute for biomedical engineering, medical devices and artificial intelligence Lejla Gurbeta-Pokvić and Director of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) program in BiH, which implements the Project “Innovations and Digitization of small and medium-sized enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina” Eva Neher (Näher), signed a Memorandum of Cooperation at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Sarajevo.
This document establishes a framework for cooperation on the common goals of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in Bosnia and Herzegovina on the way to digital transformation and the introduction of digital innovations. The goal of the Memorandum, among other things, is the development of the Center for digital transformations and the implementation of digital technologies, as well as improving business efficiency, optimizing processes and increasing competitiveness for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Through this center, it is planned to establish mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating the progress of digital transformations of small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as to continuously improve services and activities, in order to achieve the desired results and meet the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises in the process of digital transformation.
The Federal Ministry, Verlab and GIZ, in addition to mutual cooperation on support activities for small and medium-sized enterprises, in accordance with the signed document, will also work on improving the level of application of information technologies in order to modernize the operations of small and medium-sized enterprises. Among the priorities are the exchange of knowledge and experience in good practices of using new technologies, and the provision of support for modern business models in various fields. Also, cooperation implies analysis of the normative framework and proposing changes or new regulations with the aim of improving the process of digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The signatories of the Memorandum will appoint their representatives who will meet regularly to plan, coordinate, and implement activities to support small and medium-sized enterprises in FBiH.
