Verlab Sport
Professional sports clubs are currently implementing various strategies and technologies to improve athletic performance, with the identification of talented young athletes being a key priority, along with enhancing sports activities through training optimization and reducing sports injuries or illnesses. Additionally, considering that not every athlete, especially top-tier athletes, is necessarily healthy, it is essential to consider a broader view of their health status.
To address these challenges, we have developed the Verlab Sport module. This module represents a group of scientists and researchers with diverse expertise, who jointly conduct a combined athlete testing model aimed at preventing sports injuries, identifying talents, and predicting athletic performance. This testing model, the first of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina, includes the analysis of results from ergospirometry tests, isokinetic tests, motor skills testing, psychological stress tests, and genetic testing of the ACE and ACTN3 genes. The focus of the combined testing model is on an individual approach, which represents a crucial component of the future of sports. Each athlete is an individual with unique needs, capabilities, and weaknesses, therefore requiring a tailored training program that considers these specificities. This comprehensive testing model enables the analysis of precise data that serve as the foundation for creating an individualized training program and minimizing the risk of injuries.
Within this module, we conduct the following tests:
Ergospirometry – laboratory measurement of aerobic power, aerobic capacity, and metabolic load zones
Isokinetic isolated testing of strength and endurance of critical muscle groups and motor skills, explosive power, and tensiomyography
Assessment of psychological and cognitive abilities, and personality parameters
Genetic testing
Expert analysis and generation of individualized recommendations.
