Raising the capacity of women in leading the process and making decisions in sports in the countries of WB – Women4Sport
Project description:
The Women4Sport project is a two-year Erasmus+ initiative aimed at promoting gender equality in leadership and decision-making roles within the National Olympic Committees (NOCs) of the Western Balkans. By addressing structural barriers and cultural challenges, the project seeks to enhance women’s representation in sports governance, aligning with EU gender equality regulations. The project is structured into five work packages:
- WP1 Project Management and Coordination: Oversees the project implementation, ensuring effective communication among partners and managing administrative tasks.
- WP2 Research and Analysis: Conducts in-depth analyses of women’s involvement in management and decision-making processes within the NOCs of the Western Balkans, identifying cultural and structural barriers.
- WP3 Promotion and Awareness: Disseminates research findings and promotes the importance of women’s participation in sports leadership, organizing regional meetings to encourage collaboration among NOCs and sports federations.
- WP4 Strategy Development and Training: Designs personalized strategies to enhance women’s roles in sports governance, conducts training sessions to integrate these strategies into NOC work plans, and provides hands-on support for effective implementation.
- WP5 Dissemination and Sustainability: Shares project outcomes widely and ensures their long-term impact, organizing a final symposium to showcase results and developing materials to promote ongoing progress in gender equality in sports.
Through these comprehensive efforts, Women4Sport aims to create lasting change in sports governance, fostering more inclusive leadership structures and contributing to a stronger, more equitable future for women in sports.
