Advancing Data Literacy and Innovation in the Western Balkans – DELTA

Project name:

Advancing Data Literacy and Innovation in the Western Balkans – DELTA

Project description:

The primary goal of the DELTA project is to foster a culture of knowledge exchange and foster innovation in multidisciplinary teaching and learning across the Western Balkans. The initiative is dedicated to equipping individuals with comprehensive knowledge and skills in data literacy, crucial for seamless integration into the EU’s economy and labor market.

DELTA project endeavors to:

  • Provide students from various faculties at Western Balkan universities with the opportunity to attain a proficient level of data literacy. This initiative ensures that students are well-prepared to apply these critical skills across a broad spectrum of scenarios in both their personal and professional lives, thereby enhancing their adaptability and competitiveness.
  • Bridge the existing disparity in data literacy between the Western Balkans and the European Union. By elevating the standard of data literacy education in the region, the project aims to align the Western Balkans more closely with EU benchmarks, facilitating a smoother transition for its workforce into the EU labor market and economy.

To meet this challenge, DELTA project will transfer the knowledge from the EU and Third countries associated to the programme to WBC by defining the profile of data literacy for the higher education with reference to the WBC higher education system, developing data literacy courses compliant with a qualification system based on the ECTS credit points, train the trainers form the WBC HEIs, and conduct a pilot at the WBC HEIs. In parallel, the partners will develop a digital learning environment to integrate the class-based courses and a sound validation and certification system.
