Interactive workshops in Bosnia and Herzegovina
The research team of the Verlab Institute, together with collaborators, experts in the application of artificial intelligence, organizes a series of workshops as part of the project “Research on the application of artificial intelligence for sustainable digital transformation and innovation in the agricultural sector in Bosnia and Herzegovina – AgroSmart”. The project is financed by the European Union through the EU4AGRI initiative, as part of the program “European Union Support for the Competitiveness of Agriculture and Rural Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina”. The program is implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and the Czech Development Agency (CzDA).

The workshops will provide participants with a basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI), its application in agriculture, and in addition to present opportunities for the implementation of innovative projects that include the application of AI in the agricultural sector through technical support and cooperation with research institutes.
Farmers will have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the AgroSmart system for automatic wheat yield calculation, which is the result of the work of Verlab Institute researchers in cooperation with partners from the sector: MPI “MLIN” d.d. Ustikolina, VIP DRINA Ustikolina, EKO Bosanska Posavina, Farmer Derventa, MLIN Kopačević, Profarm company. This advanced system allows farmers to quickly and efficiently estimate the yields of their crops simply by taking photos of their crops, in situations where mechanization with automatic yield calculation is not available.
