Project name:
EUROCC/EUROCC4SEE NCC
Project description:
The National Competence Centre for High Performance Computing in Bosnia and Herzegovina (NCC BiH) was established under the EuroCC2/EuroCC4SEE initiative to strengthen the capacity and application of high performance computing (HPC) in the country. Serving as a key hub for HPC innovation, NCC BiH supports small and medium enterprises, academia, and public administration in adopting advanced HPC technologies through education, technical guidance, and strategic initiatives.
Coordinated by Verlab Institute and Verlab d.o.o., NCC BiH ensures high-quality outcomes and long-term sustainability through collaboration with academic, industrial, and public sectors. The center facilitates access to cutting-edge HPC resources and expertise in partnership with other European NCCs.
The EuroCC2 project aims to develop a network of National Competence Centres across Europe by supporting them with expertise and resources at both national and European levels. It promotes knowledge exchange and collaboration, accelerating HPC adoption in various sectors. EuroCC4SEE extends these efforts to countries like Bosnia and Herzegovina, helping them build operational models and integrate into the European HPC ecosystem.
High performance computing involves the use of supercomputers and advanced infrastructure to process massive data and run complex simulations quickly. HPC is applied in fields such as medical research, climate modeling, materials science, finance, engineering, and artificial intelligence—empowering faster innovation and data-driven decision-making.
