Held Training as part of the EIT HEI ABCD Project

The ABCD Project aims to become a leading platform for innovation and deep tech entrepreneurship in the Western Balkans. It encourages entrepreneurial thinking and supports Deep Tech startups to advance on a global level through efficient collaboration with stakeholders and the local innovation ecosystem.

The Western Balkans region has shown promising progress in recent years towards developing its innovative ecosystem and higher education institutions. Promising initiatives, including research centers, startup incubators, and government-funded projects, are aimed at fostering technology-driven innovation and entrepreneurship in the region. Governments and international organizations play a crucial role in providing financial and technical assistance to support these efforts.

The ABCD consortium consists of several universities and incubators from the Western Balkans and beyond. Working on five customized work packages, the project is contributing its fair share to encourage activation and contribute to the initiative for deep tech talents, with the goal of training at least 1 million deep tech talents by 2025. The project directly provides training for a target audience of at least 986 talents. By signing the Deeptech Pledge, consortium partners commit to contributing to this goal even beyond the project’s timeframe. Assuming a moderate growth in the number of participants (a 10% increase in the case of higher education students and a 5% increase in the number of beginners trained year-on-year), it is expected that the consortium will contribute to training 8347 talents by 2030.

As an institution supporting the development of Deep Tech startups in Bosnia and Herzegovina, we have shared our experience and knowledge about effective entrepreneurial strategies.
