Verlab Institute at Telemedicine Summer School in Budva

With the support of the German DAAD, Telemedicine Summer School organized by HTWG Konstanz and the University of Kragujevac was held in Budva from 01.08.2022. until 06.08.2022. Participants of this summer school were PhD and MSc students from all Western Balkan countries, and lecturers from Germany, Greece, Montenegro, Romania, Croatia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The week was filled with lectures, workshops for students, panels and a rich social program that enabled the participants to connect with experts in the field of telemedicine.

Some of the topics were:

  • Best practices in telemedicine
  • Technical, economic and social challenges
  • Cross-border cooperation
  • Regional telemedicine routes
  • Ethical, legal and social aspects
  • IT-Platforms and artificial intelligence

In the rich program of the summer school, representatives of the Verlab Institute held two lectures. Prof. Dr. Almir Badnjević gave a lecture on the use of telemedicine in testing and predicting the performance of medical devices, while Lemana Spahić Bećirović participated in a panel where PhD students presented their research, and she presented her work on the application of artificial intelligence in the analysis of images obtained using 4D ultrasound.
